Wi-Fi Network - Design and Build.

At Kimcomm we like to think that we do things properly, whatever the project, whatever the technology.

We have been installing Wi-Fi Access Points and networks for many years and mostly into schools and local businesses. As the needs of our customers has developed, so has our Wi-Fi product range and our design and build process.

To meet the wide variety of demands presented by Home and Business markets we have added Ubiquiti, Draytek and WatchGuard to our range of Wi-Fi Access and radio products. We not only install managed Wi-Fi 5 and 6 access point networks but also 2.4/5Ghz point to point and point to multi-point bridge links over several kilometres in distance. Furthermore, by using a tool such as WifiPerf we can determine data throughput, RF signal levels, encryption etc etc and using a Wifi mapping tool we can determine wifi dead spots and ideal locations to place wifi repeaters.

The Wi-Fi design and build process has been updated too. Our staff have received accredited training from WatchGuard and Ubiquiti, and we have invested significantly in the use of specialist Wi-Fi Survey and Planning tools. With the use of either Netspot 2.0 or Ekahau Site Survey and Planning software we can ensure that your WI-FI network is designed and built to meet your requirements and more.

The use of specialist WI-FI Survey and Planning software enables KimcommAV to locate the right type of access point in the most optimal location to give you the best WI-FI coverage and data throughput. Furthermore, we can also add WI-FI troubleshooting and diagnostics to the list of services – essential if your home or business is in a crowded WI-FI environment.

 Detailed spectrum analysis coupled with an extensive list of design parameters and specifications from all the major WI-FI Access Point manufacturers enables Kimcomm to design and build highly available and high-quality WI-FI networks. With Netspot or Ehakau Heatmapper we can consider a building layout, building materials, furnishings, capacity requirements and more to provide a graduated assessment of WI-FI coverage.

Wireless Point to Point Connectivity

Extending the reach of your local network with cable isn't always technically possible or indeed practical. Installing a duct can be expensive, time consuming  and in some cases simply not feasible. At Kimcomm AV we have responded to our customer requirements by gaining accreditation to design, install and manage Ubiquiti Wifi Access Point and Wifi Bridge links for the following applications:

• Simple network extension from home to an outbuilding - i.e holiday rental accommodation or home office

• Enabling HD-IP CCTV cameras to be installed hundreds of metres from the central DVR/NVR

• Enabling Wi-Fi distribution to holiday/caravan parks with point to multi-point Wi-Fi distribution

• Enabling farm buildings and infrastructure to be monitored via IP security/cctv systems 

• Connection of several remote offices/buildings back to the central office

• Provide shared Wi-Fi access to a community such as village halls, sports centres, meeting rooms etc
