VoIP Installers in Worcester

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a technology that allows people to make voice calls over the internet instead of traditional phone lines. With VoIP, voice signals are converted into digital data packets that can be transmitted over the internet, and then converted back into analog signals at the other end.

VoIP can be used with a variety of devices, including computers, smartphones, and special VoIP phones. Some of the benefits of using VoIP include lower costs compared to traditional phone services, greater flexibility, and the ability to use a single device for both voice and data communications. VoIP is also often used in conjunction with other communication technologies such as video conferencing and instant messaging.

Delivering a VoIP service basically requires a number of things:

  • Converting your analogue PSTN telephone line to IP - this is called a SIP channel and your existing telephone number is “ported” to the new SIP provider - with your express permission

  • Connecting your SIP channel or channels (depending on how many analogue lines you need to convert to IP) to a VoIP telephone system (often called a hosted or cloud based VoIP PBX)

  • Installation of VoIP telephone extension handsets (which can be Wi-Fi or Ethernet hard-wired)

  • Configuration of the new system to ensure your business requirements are met

If this sounds complicated - don’t worry as we can take on all of the above for you. We partner with a number of SIP providers for your telephone numbers and with 3CX for your hosted VoIP system.
